Saw them playin' at a local hotel back in the early days when any new band wur considered "punk".

A good night oot wis had by aw concerned.

I knew Sheddy Laird,stayed 5 mins walk from me. A lovely guy,who was well respected in journalism also.

The Jolt wur a good wee band that suffered a bit fae bein' compared wi' The Jam ah feel.

Sorry to jump on this. My wife knew Ian pretty well, and followed the Saints for awhile and also when Ian was in the Snakes of Shake Her and her friend rented Ian's flat in London for quite a while whilst they both worked down here. She was pretty gutted when she heard the news from here, as living down here she wasn't aware. Sad news
