General music chat / Re: those records you just cannot stand....

As a piece of music it is overrated (Nolan Porter) but have some special memories with that tune, about 2005 in a soul club someone played it out when me and a couple of my mates came up with this drunken idea that   8) weīd take a taxi round each othersī places for passports and head for the airport and take the first available flight (at 4am) to more southern climates that was available (turned out to be none other than the temple of sophistication ,Tenerife, hmm). Some explaining to do to employers and girlfriends/wifes the next day haha! Good times.

Farsley Celtic are quite decent tho, seen them play once. And Socrates and some other Brazilian legends played a couple of matches for Garforth if I remember correctly.

One of Simons little coups (owner of Garforth), know him from a bar I frequent.

One of my best mates (a football journalist) interviewed him years ago for a Finnish football mag, back when all the Garforth Brazilian football school/Socrates stuff etc was happening, said he was very eccentric but had good ideas and plans.

I live by Elland Road so will visit when we play there next.
Would rather watch Garforth Town or Farsley Celtic before Leeds.

Not gonna happen for years, things are getting no better with the new potless owners.

You canīt help but love Liverpool fans, the biggest top 4 side that, hmm, never actually finishes in the top 4 haha!

David, youīve been amongst the most entertaining posters here for years, and always selling quality stuff in my size for good prices, have bought from you before and probably will again, and you have very beautiful eyes, but take it easy with the LUFC bashing, man! Letīs face it, most unbiased football observers would agree with my sentiments. LUFC are still unarguably one of the biggest clubs in Europe, let alone England. Slotting in nicely somewhere between Juventus and Barcelona! Why not get yourself down to Elland Road in August when Bundesliga giants FC Nürnberg come to town  8)

Itīs possible Iīm still living off past glories and slighly delusional :-[

I still think of Leeds as a 'big club' purely because they have a big set up, catchment, heritage etc etc.

More so than at least half (if not more) of the Premier League.

Which probably shows just how badly people can run a football club.

Exactly. Big set up, massive supporter base, Don Revie & his legendary team, only club in one of the biggest cities in the UK, if youīd ask people like Beckenbauer or Platini etc they would say Leeds are still one of the biggest clubs in England.

Third most supported English club in Scandinavia, thousands of Leeds fans in Norway in particular.

"Which probably shows just how badly people can run a football club"

How true, from one fool (Ridsdale) to another (Bates). Wankers!

Apologies if I came across as offensive in a drunken haze (booze+internet, never a good combination) and donīt want to be rude, but beach fighting in the 60s the reason why mod scene is still alive   ???,  I find that offensive towards all the people who have put so much effort into keeping it alive.

Yep and Leeds United will not be playing in the Premier League for many many years. Lou Rawls used to sing about the start of a beautiful friendship, well I bumped into the perfect one 20 years ago, would fly over once/twice e a year to beautiful Beeston. LUFC has been destroyed and raped during the past 10 years by a sick twisted criminal and these potless disciples of his. Iīm sure some here will take great delight in LUFC`s current demise, but itīs all very sad considering itīs easily the biggest club outside the PL top 4 let alone the Championship.

The Damned United  :(

Beautiful Beeston?? You having a giraffe Pekko? It's a f**king dump.

Bigger club than Liverpool??? Have a word with yourself. I live in Leeds and know loads of LUFC fans, can't imagine even they would think that.

Yep was having a very drunken giraffe mate, there is a slight amount of sarcasm in the Beeston comment ;)

Not saying bigger than Liverpool, but on a par with them despite the last 10 years, most of LUFC fans I know would agree. Think there are a few Leeds fans here, back me up boys or I will come across as delusional LOL! A sleeping giant that has fallen on hard times, but will be back, sooner or later  :)

Let us revitalize this thread.

Iīve been getting into the groove big time with the CC Cup, itīs f**king great love it, very entertaining, fills the "no WC/EC" summer hole perfectly.

Love Tahiti, 5 siblings, 3 unemployed, 1 truck driver, 2 factory workers and still were very near to scoring against Spain and did very well for the first 30 mins!

May put some money on them scoring once agains Uruguay...
