Fantastic, thanks for that hipshaker. My brother brought our tickets, but he's lying in the sun in Zante atm, he's home on Saturday so will find out about the refund then.

No worries, still plenty on I think.

As for the refund, we were told they were all processed. The hotel set the online payment system up so we're at the mercy of the info they give us. They're straight up people so should all be sorted.

Scoots and scootering / Re: Lambretta Vendetta
« on: July 05, 2017, 10:30:40 AM »
After all the PX chat I must admit that I have heard reasonable reports about the Scomadi and excellent things about the Vespa GTS but still the PX is best choice as a true classic.
Meanwhile I am about to shoehorn a modern vespa 125 engine (auto) into a 1952 Lambretta LD ( very early French one) .  Should be a laugh, don't tell the purists. Photo later in the year if it works out.

I don't mind the look of the new Lambretta ...... there's been loads of criticism about the loss and how it won't appeal to scooterists here, however I imagine that will be just a small part of their market.
I've got a GTS 300 and I have to say it is excellent for work. Very quick away from the lights, agile enough to filter in most situations and comfortable on the motorway. The only downside is i miss the smell and sound of 2 stroke. I like the look too ...... but then i also like the ET and LX models. I'm not a fan of the boxy PX shape, although i had a T5. I keep the Lambrettta for Sundays.

As expected Friday has sold out too ......... we released an extra 50 tickets for each night but they went fairly quickly. Still a few left for Sunday and a couple of hotel B7B packages left too.

After trying out Ventnor last year (to very mixed feedback), Hipshaker returns to Ryde for the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally in August 2016.
We will be at a new venue, the fantastic Royal Esplanade Hotel which has recently been taken over by a new management team and undergone a full refurbishment to a high standard.

There will be two rooms of music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 8pm – 2am:
Friday August 26
Hipshaker Room - Guest DJs Dave Edwards + more TBC
Guest Club Room - Soul 45 (Maximum Funk & Soul)
Saturday August 27
Hipshaker Room - Guest DJs Eddie Piller & Paul Hallam
Guest Club Room - Club Bangarang (Ska, Reggae, Rocksteady, Roots, Dub & Dancehall)
Sunday August 28
Hipshaker Room - Guest DJs Jim Watson + more TBC
Guest Club Room - Funk Klub (The Funk, the whole Funk and nothing but the Funk!)
Each evening will also feature the Hipshaker DJs and our special Guest DJ Dom Cater.

Smart dress sppreciated for evening events!

There are two types of tickets on offer:
• A full weekend package including both B&B accommodation and entry to all three Hipshaker nights

Weekend package prices will vary according to the type of room booked.
Some off road parking for scooters will also be available on a ‘first come first served’ basis for weekend guests.

i had one too, although it was purple .... around 1974 i think. the one i've got was restored by someone so i doubt it is totally original or entirely from one bike.

yes, she is supposed to be a jack russell ...... although different people see different things in her relating to all sorts of terriers. i saw some pics of "fell terriers" that looked a bit like her.
