Second selection now live - raunchy R&B, gritty soul, and curveballs galore... short 'n' sweet!

Looks great! Had no idea his work was so varied.  8)

When was this Robin?

Our paths will have certainly crossed.

You didn't travel down from Wick...some taxi journey home that!

Haha! No, lived in Dundee at that point... used to frequent Friday St and Basics... left to live in London around 2012!

Whilst most of what is said about Ben Sherman is true, I have found their Harrington jackets to be fantastic quality for the price. At about a 1/4 of the price of Baracuta they are a great buy.

Yeah I knock about in a few Ben Sherman harringtons, they're a lot more price-worthy than a Baracuta right now.

I don't mind the odd bit of Ben Sherman, mainly the basics - got a nice zip up knitted top in the sale, but would never have bought it full price.

Cheers for listening!

JLH track is the flip of 'Big Legs, Tight Skirt' on Veejay

Mix was a tight 30 minutes as an experiment, can certainly go more in depth on future instalments!  8)

Made it a New Year's resolution to kick off a mix series, so here's the first part of Soulful Sundays:

Raucous rhythm 'n' blues, sassy soul for dancers - ft. John Lee Hooker, Freddy King, Baby Washington, Dinah Washington + loads more. V much for the Mod persuasion! Hope you enjoy!

Sorry Robin,just saw this.

He played a mix of straight up Northern/soul tunes. Went down well with the natives. Tailor Made encourages a mix across the Mod spectrum. You'll hear RnB,northern, ska, soul and beat on any given night.

Thanks! Yeah I used to go to Friday Street a lot when I lived in Scotland, always a terrific night.

Exhibitions are always worth a shot - this one at Proud looks quite cool...

Check the gig guide - could be some Mod friendly artists doing live shows on a week night!

Half way through this now. cracking read. Not read the Memphis one yet Laird that's next on list.

Had a brief chat with him last week at Tailor Made in Glasgow.

They had him on a guest DJ. Played a couple of great sets. He obviously knows his onions and has some big records.
Used to see him at Legendary Glasgow club Caledonian Soul

What did Cosgrove play at Tailor Made? I've seen him do a straight up Northern set before (as you say, some big records!) but would be intrigued to see/hear what he'd play to a Mod crowd!
