Films / TV / John Simons A Modernist
« on: April 25, 2018, 08:05:09 AM »
Iím surprised itís not been mentioned that the John Simons film has been released.
Itís a brilliant look at the mans life and gives a great insight into his philosophy on clothes and his very long career.
Well worth a look.

Fashion for sale or wanted / Penfield Hoosac Parka For Sale Large Size
« on: December 09, 2017, 05:44:12 PM »
I have a Large Penfield Parka for sale, colour Lichen I.e. green.
I got it as a late Xmas present in January this year(2017) but I donít like the colour and I have honestly only worn it 3 times since getting it. Also it was a little too small for me.
Itís stil in the Penfield box it was delivered in.
Have a look at the Penfield site for sizing information but I have provided measurements below.
Pit to pit 23Ē.
Sleeve length 27Ē.
Total  length exculding hood 34Ē.
These are extremely good cold weather coats and last for years. The last one I had lasted 12 years.
I want £200 plus £15.00 postage. RRP is £395. The postage is an estimate off the Royal Mail site. If itís cheaper Iíll refund the difference. If more expensive Iíll swallow the extra cost.
As Iíve been mucked about selling on eBay Iím hoping to sell on here without the conning so &soís on eBay which are the bane of online selling. Iím not willing to play postal tennis with this item so no refund without  a great reason so check the sizing before buying.
Contact me for photos. If localiish to croydon I might consider delivering it.
Payment by paypal, cash or bank transfer.

Paolo Hewitt and John Hellier's book 'Can You Show Me A Dream? Arrived yesterday and it looks like a good read.
I can't remember when I ordered it. I assume it was through the pledge website or something.
Not on Amazon yet but should be available soon I would have thought.

Mod fashion and style / Fabric suppliers in East London
« on: December 17, 2016, 01:54:23 PM »
I was in George Dyer's shop ordering a new suit and he mentioned a fabric supplier in East London he keeps  hearing about but is not sure who they are or exactly where they are. I don't think it's an old company so maybe they've only started recently.
This is about the 4th time I've heard about this supplier and I was wondering if anyone on here knows about it?
I'm beginning to think that the place is a myth!

Books and other printed media / Mojo Talkin' book
« on: December 11, 2016, 04:46:14 PM »
Tony Beesley's book Mojo Talkin' can now be ordered from his website.
It's the follow on from Sawdust Ceaser's and looks like a good read.
It's great that so many books have been released about the Mod scene.
Let's hope the trend continues.

Mod fashion and style / Shirt maker in London
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:54:19 PM »
After seeing some of Cock of the Walk shirt makers work I fancy getting a couple of items made.
I have used Brooks Brothers and a place over in Fulham before but neither got the collar right of me. Jermyn Street hasn't really thrown anyone up unless I've missed them.
If I'm going to spend the money then I want perfection.
Does anyone know of a decent shirt maker in London?

Books and other printed media / The Pocket Square
« on: May 19, 2016, 06:00:54 PM »
I just received my copy of The Pocket Square after seeing it mentioned on the Grey Fox blog site.
It's a guide to 22 folds and is quite a handy little guide.
Well worth a look if you are into this kind of thing.

Books and other printed media / Ready Steady Girls
« on: April 30, 2016, 11:25:57 AM »
I've just been invited to like this book on Facebook. Not much information as yet but it looks good to me. A female take on the Mod scene would make a nice change.
It will be published through Suave Collective. There's a mention of a link to pre order it on the website but it seems to be missing.
