Uniqlo have just restocked their selvedge jeans (this time 100% cotton, thanks god) at 40, and offer some nice (also all-cotton) shorts in not often seen colours (rust, deep red and olive) for 24 .
Thanks for the heads up on the selvedge jeans, GS. Just order a pair to give 'em a try...

They come up on the generous side , whatever you are in Levis ,you will be in Uniqlo jeans . Thats what ive found anyway !

You're welcome, mi amigo de la Ciudad del Motor. Just report back your impressions
Will do. I order 3 different sizes, as I've never bought anything from UNIQLO other that tees, sweaters, or socks.. don't know if they do Euro or US sizing...

it is a nice bit of kit ,and if it fitted i certainly wouldn`t be moving it on , but i took a punt ,not considering an XL in American sizes is bigger than an XL in European ,  one of these things !

That's part of the "oversized" garments trend of last years. Look at the high street brands' webstores: skinny, undernourished models wearing shirts and trousers that look like tents on them. Slightly more bearable than the "muscle fit" look

Reminds me of the 80's, oversized shoulders and boxy fit jackets and trousers... David Byrne suits!

You have a point, Mike, the 80s were a sartorial nightmare, excepting the revivalists youngsters, of course  8)

What about the Casuals Rafa ?

You have a point, Johnny. Not my style, that's for sure, but somewhat a return to form.
Not sportsware for sure , but the 70/80s Gabbicis , the Vneck jumpers ( often Argyle ) with a polo /roll neck under , the straight slacks ,cords ,jeans , Apollo boots ( desert boots ) loafers ( Gucci )  Burberry /Aquascutum macs /trenchs ,even duffles .Casual and Mod were interlinked in my opinion , the fashion especially for us very young Mods in London rolled right into Casual seamlessly .
I`m aware the older lot didnt flow into Casual ,in the way we did  , ( and there was a bit of agg) , but Mod to Casual in the 80s was a natural progression for us .

They look fine apart from those wonky pockets. Never been a fan of unmatched breast pocket and not cutting the placket on the bias is I suppose a cost saving but should be done IMO. Fit and cloth looks nice though.  ;)

Agreed unmatched pockets are awful.

Just a matter of personal taste , obviously a striped shirt ,the pocket should match , but a window pane check ,shouldn`t , in my opinion .

Back to the OP, i know if i`m scruffy or unshaven my youngest presumes i`m unwell ,so ive got an incentive to keep it up ,as i dont want to scare her !
So, much like GS , i`m not going all out , but wearing dessies or wallabees , jeans/chinos ,with a shirt under a crewneck ( usually a lacoste , or one of Mr Bs sweats . Very casual ,but definately a step up from lounging around in my vest and boxers !

Yeah it's finding that point between smart and relaxed isn't it?

Today I've got Fred Perry cricket jumper, green checked Fred Perry button down, Levis, and Adidas

Will probably stretch my legs, but with no pubs, no clubs, and no football what even is the point...?  ::)

Its what DR G said , as a dad I have a responsibility to the kids to keep sane !  ( We are 4 days into isolation now , because of my health problems , and weve all had our moments already ! )  And like probably everyone on here , we all feel better ,when you look better , i certainly do anyway ! Plus the fact if your on here ,your into at the very least , certain aspects of Modernism , so we all have self imposed standards to keep up ,i would have thought !

Massive French brand Comunne de Paris 1871 archives' sale. Quality all around (they manufacture mostly in Europe), and their Protot jackets -with a 50% discount and many sizes and colours/fabrics still left- are the embodiment of Continental cool. But they offer other interesting jackets, jumpers and trousers:

Those 3 button jackets and a couple of jumpers are bang on Rafa !
