+1 on the hat, though it is simply the icing on an understated but fine looking cake!

Mr Bond makes a good point, the fact that we can't really go anywhere has, for me at least, curtailled massively my 'dressing up'. It's jeans, a polo and a Harrington for a run to the supermarket and that's about the height of it. On the plus side, my bank balance is a little healthier as the general caveat to stuff I fancy is "where the f**k am I going to where it to?". I recognise that that's a little defeatist, this thing will end, but I do currently find it hard to justify buying stuff just to have.

My player gave up the ghost a couple of weeks back, my next purchase will be a new turntable as there's a lot of vinyl catching my eye of late. I'll get Christmas out of the way and then the quest begins!

Yeah l concur on the clothes purchases and so with my love of vinyl playback have been spending on the upgrade path . Recent purchases include a new drive belt and an acrylic platter . The improvements with the acrylic platter were way beyond expectaions . .

In no way modernist, but I'm currently checking out the Kojey Radical album "Cashmere Tears". A rap album based around some very funky grooves, it comes in at 10 tracks in 29 minutes. Worth slightly less than half an hour of your time if you like that sort of thing.

Love that coat, Mike

Good piece, Mike, though some of those prices are a little eye-watering! I, too, think a tie can work with a BD and I have done so myself. What isn't acceptable is wearing a BD, with or without tie, with the collars unbuttoned. Jesus, that makes my OCD twitch like buggery!!!

The Moons 'Pocket Melodies'. Never been that much of a fan, tbh, but Ian Pople of this parish has been raving about it of late so I had a listen. He's right, it's a consistently good album throughout.

Abounding in the dark strides/light jacket debate (that bloody fog follows me wherever I go, Laird; I'm frightened, I tells ya!  ;D):

Rafa, for me, this is a perfect example of the 'broken suit' dark strides/light jacket combo. Muy bien, amigo!
