Only a couple of episodes in, but loving this show. Funny, very un-pc and some great sets and clothes

It's nice to have you back, doc! At the risk of hijacking the thread... did you like the Gene Clark's record? At first listening, the obvious demo quality of the recordings was an unwelcome distraction, but it has grown on me. In fact, I'd say almost half of the songs merit inclusion in the GC's canon (to name a couple personal favourites: "Doctor, doctor" and "7:30 mode"), and the rest aren't half bad. Of course, he was at the peak of his vocal form, so song quality aside it's a pleasure to hear him sing.

I'll keep this brief, as we have hijacked the wrong thread. Like you, I thought it was a little hit and miss in terms of the songs themselves, but Gene does sound wonderful throughout. Final note; in case you didn't catch it last time around, bbc4 (I think, will confirm) are showing The Byrd Who Flew Alone again on Saturday 22nd September. I'm guessing you can get the iplayer online.

P.S thanks for the welcome back. I've been lurking but been hugely distracted with work and some domestic issues of late, things settling down again now

The tailorin' isnae ma cup ay tea.

Really liked the car coat n' some ay the knitwear but ah'm no sure ma muscular frame wid look good squeezed intae even an XL. (At least whaur the knitwear is concerned anyway).

If XXL option wis available ah'd certainly consider some ay the items oan the site.

Laird, I believe you are a similar centre half-framed individual like myself, and not a small face. I bought an XL from Daniele when he first launched the range, would have been perfect if the look I was going for was mod boob-tube!! He did say at that stage that they were looking at catering for the larger face, but that doesn't seem to have happened. Which is a shame, as the knitwear is well made and looks the part.

So noo every team has appeared at the World Cup, wha' ur we aw impressed by?

Spain, Portugal, Belgium fur me.

Russia much better than expected. Like the big centre forward. Wi' the crowd behind them n' aw the players playin' fur the jerseys they will be hard tae beat tho' cannae see them gettin' past the quarter finals.

Agree with your choices, Laird, plus Mexico and I was surprised by how well England played in the first half against Tunisia. Though their profligacy in front of goal will be their undoing as the tournament progresses. If Belgium could combine their talent with the Mexicans work rate and energy, they'd be almost unplayable.

Sorry to read this Laird. My thoughts are with you.

Good to know you are still around , Buddie . Doc too. .

Still here, Mr B, just been lurking of late as very busy, my work/life balance is f**ked at the minute!!

Your more regular appearances are missed. .

I concur, in fact I hoped some feedback from such a Byrdmaniax as you to the news of the unearthed Gene Clark's 1967 album! Anyway, stay frosty, doc.

Oh, don't worry, GS, I'm all over Gene and my thoughts will follow immersion in the great man's unearthed treasures!

Some folk scoff at the idea, Laird, but losing a pet is like losing a part of the family. Our old family cat had to be put to sleep a few years back and I still find myself looking for her when I visit my ma. Tough one, bud, but keep your head up

Don't mind that at all, Mr Bond, ideal for holidays (or the 3 days of summer we get here in Norn Iron!)
