I had heard from a pal that Mikkel was taking a year off, stepping away from the business to recharge his batteries so to speak, but that must have been nearly 2 years ago now,as you say, shame, decent shirts.

Only two more coats for me this winter. Actually, better make that four[!] as the faux fur in the first is a detachable dark emerald green (I think) and the capelet in the second, is also detachable and in a POW check. Both with a 50% wool content and available on sale from Review Australia and purchased via Afterpay...  :D

That POW number is lovely, Becky, but I thought you didn't need much winter clobber in your neck of the woods.

Ballarat is slightly colder than Melbourne, even it is 1 1/2hours drive away. It was -2C the other night, even if I did have my pjs on with a water bottle...
Besides, all the modern Mod-inspired coats I do have will never compare to my vintage, black, 1960s Mary Quant wool coat I bought on etsy a few years back. No moth holes or anything.  :D
You'd think it was new old stock.  ;)

Soft Mexicans !! ;)

Bit of talc in the shoe works wonders! ;)

Get out on the floor and show 'em what you can do.
The Brisbane Mod Soul Weekender is back again and hitting harder than a Funk Brothers snare drum. It's happening during the glorious Brisbane winter with 3 local clubs uniting and joining forces to give what promises to be something rather special.
Spanning across 2 nights and 2 daytime events, the BMSW2018 will be hosted by the good folk from Soul In The City (Brisbane's premier Northern Soul night), Watch Your Step! (Brisbane's original 6TS dance party) and Nowhere To Run (Brisbane bi-monthly 60's club night and weekly radio show).
Catch the action, supplied from original vinyl 45's straight out of the swingin' sixties. You'll hear varied and diverse sounds from our local spinners and esteemed interstate guest DJs. A focus on what moves and grooves with plenty of classic Mod, Soul, Garage, Rhythm and Blues, Ska and Funk sounds all weekend long.
Your dance venue for both nights is The Black Bear Lodge found in the heart of Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, supplying a world class sound system that'll knock your socks off while you shimmy and shake up late. We are also running a special daytime event on the Saturday at Bloodhound Bar in Fortitude Valley with a record and vintage clothing fair, come and soak up the sounds and fashion while you recover.
Running from Friday the 20th of 'til Sunday the 22nd July, this is one weekend long party not to miss!

Art and illustration / Re: John Stephen's prints

Saw this mentioned in the MC main site ( and there are some really stunning images, the best A&H collection so far.

After taking a careful look, I've purchased the two prints below (the top one was apparently the image used for the JS's shopping bags), that can match together on our study's walls IMO. One of the main assets of Art & Hue is that you can choose among a lot of colour variations and 3 sizes:

I've had the bottom John Stephen print on my wall for a few months now, but in the red and blue and very happy with it, some others on their site that are tempting too!
