Soare there cafés that always play Northern Soul or a pub with psychedelic music every Tuesday or something like that...?
Thankful for all suggestions.

I went to Fish once, didn´t get a mod cut but apparently Weller is/has been a customer and there are some nice cuts on their website.
One mentioned here on Modculture is Barber´s Point in Soho, I haven´t been there but will try to go when I´m in London. They have a gallery of their mod cuts online.
There is a mod working at Gents of London and there´s a video of Miles Kane getting his hair cut there on YTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmJKKx9hYMc

No first hand experience I´m afraid but they could be worth having a look at. Good luck with your cut!

Edit: Another one I thought of - Martin Freeman seems to get his hair cut at Joe & Co in Soho - again, lots of cuts to look at online.

Happy new year everyone,

I will be visiting London later this year but during the first part of the week. I would love to go to something mod/sixties related  but things seem to kick off Friday evening. Is there anything happening if you´re there Mon-Wed and if not club nights then some pub with nice music etc?  I´ve got Spiritland on the to-do list since it looks like an interesting place but nothing apart from that.

Currently digging this

It's by Hookworms superb tune.

Also got the new Shed 7 album. A band I was never big into but the new album is superb.

they seem to have a remarkable resurgence, they we're often mocked in the brit pop years, but fair play to them they are getting a lot of attention and praise now.

I listened to them a few years ago after finding a fairly current clip on YouTube and it was not bad at all. Must check it out.
Does anyone else remember a poem called Requiem For Britpop or something, it was published in some British music magazine and there was a reading of it on YT accompanied by sombre classical music (I wasn´t able to find it again so any help locating it would be appreciated)? It was lamenting the demise of all these 90s group and it has turned out to be completely wrong, they´re all coming back and releasing new albums and their old albums are out in deluxe 5-CD sets.

Lots of interesting things to listen to after reading these posts!

Not mod at all (except that they´re from Brighton) but Idiots by the Electric Soft Parade is one of the most melodic records I´ve heard in recent years, they really know how to come up with tunes. Quite far removed from the punk end of the musical spectrum but if you like your music slightly McCartneyish you might enjoy it.

A couple of minutes of late 60´s Carnaby Street. The thing I found interesting about this clip was the quality, it felt more contemporary and didn´t have that feeling of "then" that one would get with more grainy period footage - for me anyway:

Edit: I wrote this late nght, I´ll try again now that I´m properly awake: what I meant was that this clip gave an unusually strong feeling of here and now (apart from the music and voiceover)
