Books and other printed media / Re: The What Are You Reading Thread

Got a stack of books on the go at the moment, including a couple of nice photographic books. Highly recommend The Bag I'm In by Sam Knee, a pictorial history of UK music scenes from 1960 - 1990. Theres a few familiar faces hiding in there. Npt mod in the slightest but an old friend of mine David Arnoff has just had a book of photos published called Shot In The Dark. Really good photos, mostly punk, new wave, garage and goth bands from late 70's to mid 80's. Aside from Steve Pipers Too Much Too Youing and Jon Savages' 1966, really looking forward to getting stuck into Zoe Howes' book on Lee Brilleaux.

Very sad news about Tony, he was born in the flats behind where I live and during the late 80's was djing in my local, The Bridge House on Borough Road. Got a huge amount of respect for him, he gave me my first DJ spots, lived live to the full and was always great fun to be around. Thoughts are with him and his family.

Is that Lorraine Kelly at back right?

Don't insult Daphne like that!

I thought it was Susan Boyle!

Having seen the book a couple of weeks back, can only echo Neils sentiments. It's really been worth the wait, the unseen photos are superb, the layout is top notch and Smiler has nailed it big time.

Once i again i am embarrassed to be a Tottenham supporter. Disgraceful performance yet again.

No one can go out in a blaze of failure like we can Stax!

Should be a good night Smiler, look forward to catching up!

Gutted I missed the Impressions (again!), didn't even know about it untill Sunday afternoon and was struck down with a cold anyway so couldn't have made it along!
Went to the Wilko and Daltrey gig too, great set though couldn't see to much. Everytime i go to that venue I always same next time I'm going in the seats upstairs so i can see. I remember when being 6ft used to be tall....
Saw the Fallen Leaves at the 12 Bar last Wednesday, now there's a band I really like, punk for gentlemen they call their sound, I could call it punk with purple flashes, there's definitely a touch of the Creation in their sound.
