This a great album to get you stared.

seconded - great compilation.

Be careful with SG - you'll end up wanting to complete your collection of his albums and buy his eighties output some of which is complete gash!  I know - I've bought them all :D

Francoise is a beautiful woman with an astonishing voice and the Dutronc boxset is a very worthwhile purchase. The best SG album to get is the recent London-Paris compilation, his best late sixties/early seventies output and puts together most of the stuff from the pretty rare comp 'Les Années Psychedeliques 1966-1971'. Theres also Brigitte Bardot who did some stuff with SG (Bonnie & Clyde) and this is a good comp to start with;

when you hit 'post reply' you'll see a line of grey icons. The B is far left, hit the one under that - it's a picture frame which should come up with img and /img in these sort of brackets [ ]

You then need to have posted your photo online somewhere - an image sharing website like photo bucket or similar. Each image will have its own unique web sharing address (http etc) you then just paste this address in-between the [ img ] and [ /img ] and hit 'post'

that's s**t news Dave. hope it doesn't come to this, the MC forum has been part of my online activity for over 15 years now and it would be such a shame to see it go like this.

Hopefully there is someone out there who can give you the right advice and the forum can carry on

bought a pair in leather from TK's a few years back - lovely shoes. Also got a pair of black loafers and a sebago X billy Kirk pair of boots. All a cut above most others

What about Sidewinder Apparel Trotsky? I've heard good things about them

He used to post on here - can't remember his name, not sure whether he still does

Was Mr Black on here. Some lovely backpacks on his site. Martin was very knowledgeable about his clobber.

Thats the chap - very knowledgeable and used to find cheaper but often better alternatives to most big brand names - he had a really nice Barbour style waxed jacket that I always meant to get but can't remember the name of the company now

there is that - I'm not a fan of overshoes and tend to wear sealskinz socks in winter instead but that was with an old pair of diadora's - not been out in ages so may dig my endura overshoes out

Shoulder or rucksack?

I can't recommend Fjallraven enough - I use an Ovik shoulder bag daily - have done for two years now, its bombproof and suits my needs well.

It's this one here but can be found cheaper I'm sure.

Think I paid £49 for mine

Nearly bought some Garneau myself - but then found a pair of SH Fizik R5 which had only been worn in the house (???) for £65 on eBay so snapped them up. They are truly superb. I'm a black shoed man myself - white socks in summer and darker colours for colder times

Hampshire & Foat - galaxies like grains of sand.

Heard these on Giles Peterson a while back - laid back Jazz/soundtrack type gubbins. Greg Foat of The Greg Foat Group (strangely enough) and Warren Hampshire of The Bees. Great recording.
