You mean the money that was actually Iranian money that was frozen as part of sanctions imposed and then released back to Iran during the Obama administration as part of the multi-lateral Iran nuclear deal?  That money?

If Barry had committed an actionable crime for his part in this, surely Trump and his lap dog AG would have had him arrested and indicted by now? Hes had four years, whats he waiting for?

Barry will get his day. .

Yeah sorry Simon, I'm out too, before I say something I'll regret. I live here, what's going on here now ain't a joke.
I'm going to stick to less controversial subjects form now on (laundry tips, or how Weller has always a poor dresser with terrible hair ;D...)

Hasn't lowered my expectations, Rod. The next guy that ends up in there is going to have a helluva mess to clean up...And hopefully the current "resident" ends up behind bars.

Mmmm , from what l am hearing you are more likely to see the previous resident go to prison than the current resident . .

Oh please Simon. don't tell me you're buying some half baked conspiracy from the guy who's told a documented 18,000 lies and recommends vaping Lysol...
Better get back on track, now about laundering tips for Smedleys....

What does that mean?

Which part are you unclear about, Simon?
Didn't mean to get all "Political", I was on a news forum earlier so I was kind of "wound up"...

What is your definition of half baked conspiracy , Mike?

As far as washing of fine merino goes , I wouldn't use fabric softner on them either as , it will coat the merino fibres and reduce merino's natural ability to deal with odours . There is also a thing you can buy called a sweater comb , which will safely remove any bobbles that appear on your garment. .

No, I'm not a fan of fabric softener in general. actually is not good for the dryer components.

"half baked conspiracy": If I'm following you correctly Simon, you're saying that former Pres. Obama has done something "criminal". So if you're referring to what trump is calling "Obamagate" (his shadowy reference to some untold crimes that Obama was involved in, yet trump can't name), that's what I'm calling a 1/2 baked conspiracy. Actually more like a uncooked conspiracy that was taken out of the cooler, and left standing in the sun for a week...

I doubt even he knew what he was talking about never mind us speculating what was going on in his addled mind. It was just the usual uninformed stream of consciousness babbling coming from him that has been so frequent its become a new normal and sets the bar ever lower on what our expectations of leadership have become from the White House.

Do they have woolite where you are Mike?
Im no expert on the corrosive nature of various surfactants but they tout that as being gentle on the woollens. It still has SLS but is pH balanced so no alkali effects. I think woolite also used to do a special detergent for black gear to avoid it fading. No idea if that was just snake oil or if it really worked. I used it for a while back when I had a load of black gear in my wardrobe without really noticing if it worked well but I dont have much black any more so never bother with it these days. .

Yeah Rod, I use Woolite all the time, both the one for darks and regular. The Dark Woolite I use for socks and jeans, greys,... it seems to keep the jeans from fading.
I'm usually very careful about my wool items, I guess I wasn't thinking when I tossed the Smedley into the wash.
Anyway, found a useful youtube vid on repairing small holes in knits at least!

PS Mike you missed the chance to post a pic of Charlie Watts in that ridiculous full ruffle sleeved psychedelic monstrosity he was sporting in the seventies. Hes tried to reinvent himself recently as some sort of sartorial sauvant but as Abraham Lincoln so eruditely said, the internet never lies!!

As for Ronnie - any bloke in his seventies with jet black hair is stretching credulity to bursting point. Looks like hes been at it with a tin of Kiwi. Obviously Im biased but Rod gets away with his Barnet better, but when us blondies go grey its not so obvious. Id be happy to go full on James Brolin / Steve Martin right now. Its time for Ronnie to grow old gracefully.
Actually I was looking for a pic of that shirt, but google: "Charlie Watts Calypso Shirt", it won't  bring you any results  ;D
Now, I have a friend whose Aunt was in her early 80's with un-dyed black hair, so it is possible...just saying...
But we must agree to differ on Stewart's do....

As for Rod - this site is a nightmare for posting pics but any brief google image search will show plenty of pics of him in decent suits. Hes always been a bit of a dandy despite his egregious seventies period and likes getting dressed up. Sometimes he still crosses the line of good taste but there are loads of things in his wardrobe Id wear. Theres a pic in this post which if you add a third button is exactly what I would wear:

https://rodsmodblog.wordpress.com/2019/02/08/influence-of-the-decades-the-eighties/

But Stewart's hair does look like a fright wig these days, you can't argue with that. Now Ronnie's hair looks better....

I raise you one "wife beater"

And call you; one suit:
