I picked it up the other day, it's definitely worth a listen. I've heard it described as the "bridge" between what Coltrane was doing at the time and his later free form "Love" era work...

Couple of bits in the Pretty Green sale
Liberty print popover £120 down to £40
Brown suede trucker jacket £330 down to £132
Don't know why anyone would pay full price of £450 as you know they will be available for a fraction of the price in a couple of months

Nice score on that suede trucker, I paid twice that for a Levi's one years ago...

Hmmmmmmmm.... I ordered a copy of it, as it never showed here (at least as far as I know) so I'm looking forward to seeing it... how's it compare to the John Simons doc?

I missed out on a very similar pair on eBay only this morning.

I did receive my pair from Moscot over the weekend, dropped those off at my optometrist this a.m., hope to get them back before I leave town on the 15th.
They did fit my face perfectly (most glasses are too large) and they look sturdy. not cheap I know, but I'd recommend them to anyone still wanting the style...
Missed out on so many close ones, I just decided to take a chance...

Is there even a common name for that style Mike? Other than ‘brow bar’ or something?

I believe there was a vintage Ray Ban Olympian II which is similar but hard to find now. The Olympian has curved edges like Peter Fonda’s in Easy Rider. The Olympian II had a plastic brow bar and frame and the Olympian II deluxe were more like those Moscots but had an extra metal bridge piece.

I wouldn’t mind trying a pair on. Not sure if they’ll suit me and I have an aversion to wearing anything gold but hope they work our for you.

Just had a bit search and saw a pair of frames only in gunmetal. Hmmmm tempting!!

I've warmed up to gold frames recently Rod, avoided them for years as being too "flash".
I'm not sure what those frames are called...I read somewhere that they were a 60's style made by a company that wasn't Ray Ban, and were out of production, and that's all I remember (DAMN Memory!!)
I do have a pair of the Easy Rider Olympian re-issues, but I don't wear them as the curve of the frame doesn't work to well with my Rx...Also have a pair of "Palmer-esque" dark tortoise plastic frames from Black, which only look right when I'm wearing my hair shorter...

You're right mate. Readily available in the 1960s. Lenses shaped like an old telly screen. Lennon wears similar in the PAPERBACK WRITER/RAIN videos too and Weller did indeed have a pair toward the end of THE JAM and into The Style Council. My old Mum had a pair from the 60s I managed to cajole her into letting me have as a teenager. Wish I had them still.

I've been looking for those frames for years, this is where I first noticed them:

We went to the BOWIE thing at the V&A Museum in London a few years back. Stunning mate. You'll love it.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, it's the final stop for the show and they added his last notes, etc., from Blackstar and the play he wrote...

Some very nice shades there, Mike. Most models are interesting takes on iconic Shuron, Persol and Ray-Ban frames. Not cheap, tho'

This is the frame I'm looking at:

Just received an email from the Tonic shoppe about Moscot eyewear, had never heard of this brand but they are in NYC (which I'm heading to in a couple of weeks to check out the final stop of the "David Bowie is" show at the Brooklyn museum), and looks like they're worth a stop

DNA Groove
DNA Groove "Bruno" trousers. I have a number of them. also had some M to M trousers with a "boot cut". A of London offers their suiting trousers with an 8.5 " hem, which is as narrow as I go.
Tapered trousers are not for me, I don't like they way I look in them, plus they're so common, a flair looks a bit more "original"  ;)
