Interesting hypothesis.  Desert boots are the kind of boots that look better with a bit of wear  . One might just hang onto them thus negating another purchase.  .

I've actually had a pair of dessies resoled before now, he took it down to the leather and glued on new crepes

Didn't know they would do that and l suppose one would have to find the right cobblers. .

Thanks for that in advance, Ian. Looking forward to a Top 30 list that doesn't include "Taylor, GaGa, or Bieber"... ;)

well...

No, it doesn't Mike  ;D ;D ;D

I knew I could count on you  ;D  Every "Best of list" I've run across so far, from "serious" publications and programs seem to be all of the one's listed above!

Have to say Taylor swifts album was very good.  Have you heard any of those albums you list?

Eh?

That just goes to show an obviety: weather determines or should determine your clothing/footwear choices... if you aren't a clobber addict like ours, that is!  ;D I've got at least 4 coats and a couple macs that I get in rotation for hardly a month each year (the raincoats see more use, as I can wear them some Spring/Fall days in our odd downpour). Same with too many thick jumpers that I only get to wear more often when I go to my Pyrenees place.

Truth is proportionally I stock more Spring/Summer items, like dozens of short sleeves cotton/wool tops, but still I know I have more clothes that I need, and a bunch of them are used maybe twice a year.

Take for instance cord shoes; contrary to your point of view, I tend to see them more as a Fall/Winter stuff than Spring/Summer, and overall I get MUCH more use of my suede shoes than of the leather ones all year round.
Having an unusually dry Winter here so far, may have to dig my cord shoes out of storage...

Rain, ice, snow, more rain and more snow predicted.  I think my cord boots and shoes will be firmly staying in storage until much later this year.

Paul, right now same weather conditions here  :(. Currently wearing leather loafers (it never snows here, just heavy drizzle all day long)

Heavy drizzle my bike can cope with , snaw and ice it cannot.   I blame the government  .  .

I went a holiday dahn saff in September and I wore my corduroy shoes then and got a few complimentary remarks about them including,  they look very 6ts.
I only wore them when there was no threat of rain for despite spraying them with plenty of protection,  l would rather not find out what they are like in the rain , especially when , in this country a downpour as you call it could go on for hours on end.
With that in mind l probably have too many short sleeved shirts and coats for that matter also 😅😇😜

I loved wearing my ModShoes corduroy numbers during the summer and the suede/leather shoes l got from them probably just edge out my DNA seersucker short sleeved shirt that l like. .

As you know, I also obtained a pair of the corduroy shoes and boots from Mod Shoes, and lovely they both are too, but I think my best buy for 2020 has to be the corduroy shoes from Dr. Watson (yes, I know, they're like busses aren't they, you don't see a pair for years, then 3 come along all at once  ;D).

Normally I wouldn't have bought 3 pairs of similarly styled shoes, especially within the space of about 2/3 months, but the shape of the Dr. Watson version are so aesthetically pleasing, I had to have them.  Still not had an opportunity to wear them yet, but I'm hopeful for later in 2021, despite the current lockdown we find ourselves in.

I view them as a summer shoe , most certainly would not wear them in the rain . So in this country there is a fairly brief window of opportunity for wear , well certainly briefer than the averge House arrest. . ::)

Yeah, Robin, it was plain to see you were quite happy with those shoes  ;), and I'm proud that your award goes to a made in Spain product.

On second thoughts, Andy also has makers in Portugal, anyway made in the Iberian peninsula  ;D

And of course , Andy is one of the more popular names now in Espana,  no more Luis and Jesus or Juan 🤣🤣😇🤔

Not sure of that, hermano, the Andy who I'm talking about is 100% British  ;). That said, it's true that the American influence is increasingly pervasive here and many folks choose anglo-saxon names for their sons/daughters (like in fact South American denizens have been doing for decades). As much as I love Brit culture, I can't see the point in turning your back to your own valid traditions, as if there wasn't enough nice-sounding Spanish names to use. Same with the "hip" parents that choose eccentric/weird names for their sons: it may be rewarding for their own egos, and something to amaze their friends and shock the bourgeoisie, but surely it won't sound so cool to their son's school mates.

Lol , l mixed him up with the guy over at Dr Watson , who is from Espana. .

I thought it was great entertainment and there was great attention to detail from a 6ts point of view from the cars right down to the hairstyles and the colours . .

In fact, sometimes it felt like showing a somewhat idealized image of the 60s, like the Las Vegas or México hotels. Yep, a delight to watch

Indeed , it was certainly up there with The Green Book for 6ts attention to detail , l loved some of the clothes in that. .
