Yeah, Robin, it was plain to see you were quite happy with those shoes  ;), and I'm proud that your award goes to a made in Spain product.

On second thoughts, Andy also has makers in Portugal, anyway made in the Iberian peninsula  ;D

And of course , Andy is one of the more popular names now in Espana,  no more Luis and Jesus or Juan 🤣🤣😇🤔

Not sure of that, hermano, the Andy who I'm talking about is 100% British  ;). That said, it's true that the American influence is increasingly pervasive here and many folks choose anglo-saxon names for their sons/daughters (like in fact South American denizens have been doing for decades). As much as I love Brit culture, I can't see the point in turning your back to your own valid traditions, as if there wasn't enough nice-sounding Spanish names to use. Same with the "hip" parents that choose eccentric/weird names for their sons: it may be rewarding for their own egos, and something to amaze their friends and shock the bourgeoisie, but surely it won't sound so cool to their son's school mates.

Lol , l mixed him up with the guy over at Dr Watson , who is from Espana. .

I thought it was great entertainment and there was great attention to detail from a 6ts point of view from the cars right down to the hairstyles and the colours . .

In fact, sometimes it felt like showing a somewhat idealized image of the 60s, like the Las Vegas or México hotels. Yep, a delight to watch

Indeed , it was certainly up there with The Green Book for 6ts attention to detail , l loved some of the clothes in that. .

Sta-prests were discontinued a couple years ago; not a big loss, tbh, as the last batches -the 511s with a loose fit and slanted pockets in boring colours or the similar 502s- were disappointing. You can't even find them in the current LVC range. Still fingers crossed for Levi's to reissue the 305 5-pockets sta-prests, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You're right, Simon, the continuous tinkering of the brand with their cuts is bewildering and annoying for the consumer and renders useless their own fit guides, so I'll stick to my old sta-prests, 501s and 511s till they give the ghost.

I remember walking into a Levi's store a few years ago and asking for a couple of pairs of 501s , l wanted a blue pair and a black pair . After trying them on the assistant asked me how l got on . My response was to say to him that these were none standard 501s as the fit had been altered and the waiste band dropped etc his response ? Aye well , old men like Jeremy Clarkson ruined jeans for everyone . .🤪🤔🤔😶

Thankfully he hadn't noticed how old l am 🤣🤣🤣😇

Well, at least he gave you an amusing -and unexpected, I guess- reply.

The thing was that there was no humour in what he said , he was being deadly serious and maybe that is why the youngsters now go for the joggy-bottoms eschewing jeans . And maybe it is an age thing as l do not own one single pair of joggy bottoms and my favourite pair of vintage , heavy weight , selvage jeans are no longer Levis. .

Levis 511's seem pretty good (at least in this part of the world)
Is that U.K.? In the past Levi seemed to change the cut of 511s regularly. I liked them in the past but they ‘updated’ them to skinny fit at one stage I think.

A pity to hear that, as 511s of old were my go-to jeans choice, perfect fit
My son just got a pair as a Christmas gift , definitely too tight a fit , will be going back .

Why messing with a fit that works? As if there weren't currently skinny troos out there...
Yes - but Levis have been doing that kind of thing for years .  501's had various fits over the years and really the number  has been made meaningless by Levis and l do see young men wearing jeans that are easily as tight as my cycling tights . . ???
