We call Scottish Whiskey "Scotch", and KY Whiskey "Bourbon" to avoid any confusion. American made Whiskey, can't be labeled Scotch, and vice versa. Scotch has a "smokey", "peat" taste (and distilled from barley) while bourbon (made from corn) has a more "woody" flavor. Not sure what they do with Irish or Canadian Whiskey, but it's all in the ingredients/aging process.By rights they should be made in Scotland, like whisky has to be made in Scotland , the stuff made in the USA is called "whiskey" and usually made in Kentucky. When shetland wool jumpers were popular in the 7ts, oatmeal , the colour above was the most popular colour. I still see them in the M&S but rarely are the made in GB these days . The great thing about shetland is , in my experience, they don't seem to bobble. .This one, and 2 other's I bought from O'Connell's in Buffalo NY (Thanks Rod), 2 older RSAR, and one from Anderson & Sheppard are all tagged "Made in Scotland".
Actually I was surprised how easy it was to get real shetland..
They also sell Shetland jumpers in ' Scottish " shops that generally sell Scottish tatt for tourists but hey tend to ones designed for tourists. .which is why much of my knitwear l own is merino from an American company . .
I have a some merino mostly from Smedley, (my Uniqlo merino tends snag easily, doesn't hold up very long) but this time of year I prefer a heavier knit like Shetland. The merino is for late spring, early fall gear.
Yes , l wouldn't wear red polka dots on a white jersey either . .that would be sacrilege 🤪Nah , nae fitba' angle this time as it looks nothing like a Morton tap but possibly a cycling angle as the Maillot Jaune must be earned and has a certain, reverence 😇. .for me . .
I like the button through too , it's just not a colour that l would wear personnally.
Something to do with football, Simon?
For me the colour is the main attraction
There's also a cycling "taboo" then!

Good post , Sydney.
As l have probably mentioned to you l spent some time in ltaly in 2019, back in the days when we were free to travel . I found a few good clothes shops but most impressive were the couple of bespoke shirt makers l found , which were not even in long forgotten back streets . The shirts were short runs , 100% Eygptian cotton and made in ltaly and were priced about the same as premium shirt in M&S but with all the features we like , good roll on the collars , locker loops , full box pleat and a great fit also . Well you know what they say , when in Rome. .
As for FP , l reckon l have already bought my last item from them. .the likes of Cladius or JtG are far better VFM in my opinion. .
I could come to grips with a reasonable increasing in prices, Simon, but I don't like to feel I'm being ripped off, so I'm afraid my FP purchases have come to an end too for good, good luck with the rich and famous!
