Got my Uniqlo jeans.  Went for the regular straight fit. This is after a wash.  Great colour and reasonable weight. Fit good. I'm pleased.

Pleased to hear you're ok Steve.

Last two days trying to keep cool with couple of holiday shirts.

Cotton/Linen Cubavera (massive alteration to get it to fit) with Navy sta prest.
Old 60s beach type shirt ( looks like my pyjamas ) with Beige sta prest.

The "pyjama" one I'd wear (and not as a pyjama), but I'd rather dispense with the pockets. Where's the Doppiaa polo, btw?  ;D

Doppiaa hasn't been worn yet.  strangely there hasn't been anywhere to wear it to recently..

Great news!  Budgie is back!    8)

Tue 16 Jun 20   21:00

Budgie   Out. 1971.

Stars Adam Faith, Iain Cuthbertson & Lynn Dalby.

Budgie leaves prison and has a job planned within hours, a hijack of a vanload of cosmetics. Unfortunately, the van has a more unusual cargo

Good spot The Laird!!

A few more to mention from w/b 15th:

Following the showing of Budgie above, is a repeat showing of SMASHING TIME commencing at 10pm.

Wednesday 17th at 22.05, Terence Stamp appears in a showing of Ken Loach's kitchen sink drama POOR COW (1967).

Saturday 20th at 23.30 THE BOYS (1962) as described by our very own Martin G (where's he been lately?) in 'Mojo Talkin' - Under the Influence of Mod'  -  THE BOYS essays a random night out for a group of young London lads heading "Up West".  The interaction and banter between the four leads..... is reflective of the young Modernists of the era but also of many young men today. They all aspire to better lives than the ones seemingly laid out for them on their tough London housing estate...........  Although perhaps mirroring a society a little bit behind the times, the group are referred to as Teddy Boys or 'Teds', but in actuality their clothing and general style evoke much of the look of early London Modernists.'

Enjoy!!

Martin (who, btw, is "alive and well"  ;D, I'm sure he still lurks here now and then) was spot-on in his depiction, the movie's central characters (the "boys" of the title) dress in fact like quite stylish early modernists (look at those crisp ps folds):

Loving that Reverse stripe shirt. Wonder who makes those nowadays?  Brilliant film, not to be missed.

Darren is a lovely man.  Runs "Immidiate clothing" two streets away and does a great job. Worth popping in there for sure.

TBH I'm ok with pretty much anyone and everyone as long as their honest and pleasant. I'm sure that goes for everyone else here to. People only fall off my nice list with good cause... 8) 8) 8)

Oh Gawd!!! What have I done now ??? :)

You can get back on my Nice list as I've just had some new suits in... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I was actually in West Sussex before the lockdown and the plan was to visit your shop on the Friday before it kicked off and then I decided to postpone it to the following Friday which would have been the 27th l think. .
I have subsequently realised of course l should have gone down on 20th

I have bought stuff online but popping into the shop is a far better experience.  Looking forward to seeing you soon at the other side of this .

Cheers Simon. Much appreciated

Glad you like it.  It is quite subtle and the cloth is rather nice too.  Please don't mention the S shop, it upsets me. Everyone else is fine but they are just not very nice. I apologise if anyone else thinks otherwise. :)

Now this was controversial months ago and I guess it'll still be, but to me it's an absolutely gorgeous piece of clobber: Made in Italy, Doppiaa cotton polo with diamond pattern. I was obsessed with the brown one (did you get that finally, Adam?) but it was sold out in my size when they were reduced; anyway, I can't complain about this blue one, fits me like a glove and it was just 70 from original 140 or so price tag!

Very nice and yes I did get the Brown one. Doesn't look like I'll get a chance to wear it very soon unfortunately. Well done on the Blue one.
