Don't know if this a repeat or has been covered here before or indeed just includes the usual lazy archive clips?

I helped out on this, and the researchers really did listen, gave them some contacts from my book and they interviewed them. Could be a proper account for once!

This should be good then. There's always the worry that with anything like this that it'll be full of clips that look like Austin Powers outtakes, but this is sounding very promising.

I was pretty impressed with the programme. Enjoyed the reminicences of those there at the time as well as the more modern retrospective commentators and Paul did himself proud. The footage was in part widely seen but a few bits were new to me and I was particularly taken with the clip from early 1964 filmed in East Street Market showing a group of young Moddy types with A1 Record Stores in the background. That was the exact area I came from as a kid myself. I have many memories of the market and that record shop along with the Ice Cream shop on the corner both of which get mentions in Pauls 'NEW RELIGION' book. The camera man must have been standing outside a shop called FOX'S which was known across South London as a place right up until the late 1970s to get genuine US denim and I have many a memory of buying 'Shrink-To-Fit' 501s there along with Sta-Prest Levis and jackets in the late 1970s. Fantastic memories and a great programme.
