HIPSHAKER - IOW Scooter Rally - 28, 29 & 30 August 2015

Hipshaker is back at the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally for 2015 on Friday August 28th and Saturday August 29th!

We'll be based at the iconic Ventnor Winter Gardens, a fabulous Art Deco venue built in 1936.

We'll be offering 2 rooms of music, the larger Hipshaker main room and a smaller Guest Club/DJs room with balcony that has fantastic views overlooking the sea.

Ventnor is easy to get to from the main towns with regular buses (every 30 minutes!) travelling to and from Ryde, Newport, Sandown and Shanklin.

Have to change all out plans again!

after 2 disappointing Hipshaker free years at the IOW we had made plans to go to Brighton for a change. Have really missed you guys there, none of the others came up to scratch.

After meeting up on Sunday we have now changed our minds and will be back on the Island (and I hate the first 5 miles on the scooter home after getting off the ferry).

Can you recommend and decent places to stay around Ventnor? (there's usually between 6-10 of us and have stayed at Noades point the last couple of years - so holiday camp/hotel suggestions would be great.

Shanklin isn't far away either so worth a look there.

One thing to note though ...... current thinking is that we will be on Friday and Saturday nights ..... plus we'll hopefully have something on Saturday and Sunday daytime. This is partly due to transport not being so good on the Sunday night ..... and the fact that we're out of Ryde for the first time. It should hopefully make it more likely that we'll have two good nights, especially as the venue is big (and superb!).

Will be there for both nights. Have the hotel booked,looking forward to you being back on the Island.

Going over next week for the warm up! Will be at the music festival and at the tent. Looking forward to the flicks on the Thursday  and then spending time in there when most of the people in there haven't a clue about how good so many of the tunes are!
Slum it on the campsite, which I find a real struggle.

Great, come and say hello at the festival. I'm usually around when my more distinctive co-DJ is playing ....... so, look out for someone who looks a bit Lemmy/Ron Jeremy/Cheech Marin and I'll be next to him probably. Also around will be Boogaloo Tramp who lurks around here from time to time ..... think Clement Freud in shades and you can't fail to spot him.
