I live in Livorno -Tuscany, west coast and sometimes I work in Lucca, Firenze etc. and it can be very hot. For me it's mocassins (always with socks!), staprest or creased trousers, shirt (90% + tie) and lightweight jacket at work. Mocassins/loafers, bowling shoes or driving shoes chinos/staprest/white jeans, check s/s shirts, poloshirts (always buttoned up), cycling tops, boating blazer either with shirt&tie or poloshirt in spare time.
Broad minds, narrow ties

I usually for the smarter rockabilly look, so something like bowling, aloha loop shirts, slacks, basket weave, spats or dessies
Do it well

Add some shorts to the mix and you're sure to survive our hot humid mediterranean summers in style.

I never wear shorts in town (I don't want to be like my scruffy fellow citizens.. 8) ), I usually wear them when I go to the beach  ;); I've got three pairs: white Barba, berry Fred Perry, black Marlboro with crease

I forgot to mention my two pairs of summer desert boots (lightweight, made in Italy) one in mint, one in sand
