I should imagine it depends on a few things, style of clothes, weight/shape of person, complexion and hair etc.
Do it well

I'm with most others here. On coats / jackets yes it is a sensible option and more often than not sartorially pleasing.

On polo shirts nah. You should have 'em buttoned all the way up.
If you ooze masculinity, like some of us do, you have no reason to fear pink.

I flip the collars on most of my coats w/o really thinking about it.
If its cold enough for a long coat, it's cold enough to pop the collar... ;)

I do it with my mac because it is usually raining when l wear it , other than that usually down  . However , just as l never fasten the bottom button on a waistco't or cardi' , l would never deploy the hood on a coat . .hat or umbrella instead

I flip the collars of my two p-coats and my G23 "Ramsey"raincoat... Never ever with any polo shirt!

Wasn't it the reissue of that 1966' english football team raincoat? A beautiful number that I should have purchased when it came out. But it was bloody expensive!

Yeah , the Ramsey is a good number but as you say a bit pricey . I have a Ted Baker number but I'm probably happiest with my humble Jeff Banks number that I snatched for 1/2 price. . 8)

Oh, yes.. is the first reissue (before the WP Lavori takeover, 2010 if I'm not wrong) and it's not fully lined. So it's lightweight and perfect in spring/summer. I bought it for 180 off Stuarts - London

Not a bad price at all for a mac. I should have pulled the trigger then. Baracuta's prices are outrageous now,
