Cheers fur aw the kind words after ah started this thread.  The dug wis originally my Maw's dug.  A wee rescue fae Dogs Trust in Glasgow who had picked her up after she'd been abandoned tied tae a fence fur a couple ay days.

When my Maw died her friend that had told her she'd re-home the dug immediately changed her mind.  So ah wis left wi' a funeral tae plan n' a dug tae find a home fur.  The dug wis pinin' fur my Maw quite badly n' ah felt sorry fur her cos she'd been a great wee companion tae my Maw while she wis terminally ill.

Senor Greenstreet awreddy knows tho' ah've no mentioned it oan here before, but while ah wis up in Scotland sortin' oot my Maw's funeral arrangements, my missus decided that wis a good time tae walk oot oan me.  Nae explanation at the time, n' ah've never been given a reason tae this day.  My mother-in-law still speaks tae me n' she has nae idea whit the walk oot wis aboot either.

So when my missus f**ked off ah decided tae keep the dug fur companionship after sortin' oot that a pal could look after her while ah wis at work.  So she had kept me company fur over three years since ma life wis turned upside doon.  That's why ah am missin' her so much n' the hoose feels awfy empty cos ah'm still comin' tae terms wi' the fact she's no here.

Thanks again fur everybody's good wishes.

A pretty grim tale mate. Not easy to recount either I'm sure. Totally get the void the dog filled in your life at that time and for that to be torn open again must be just terrible.

At least the wee hound had a happy last few years, my step daughter works as a care worker for the elderly, sad how many dogs go to homes or put down when the owner passes, so you done good.

That said, brings a tear to the eye.
