Connection knits & clothing
« on: September 10, 2018, 06:46:51 PM »
Looks like the guys at Connection (remember that italian luxury knitwear and outerwear brand aimed mainly at the mod market?) have got at last a proper webstore, with a lot of new designs (or at least, not known by yours truly).

TBH, excepting some classic pieces, I find their garments a bit over the top for me (it's the same with Mendoza's), but they look terrific and I'm sure they'll suit to a T younger gentlemen and those with dandier leanings. But as expected for made in Italy clobber, it's not cheap.

Always liked Danielle's knitwear - stylish website, didn't realise they did tailoring

Not sure if I'd agree that it's over the top - find this Sidewinder top, for example, to be pretty simple and classic but horses for course I suppose!

Really liked the car coat n' some ay the knitwear but ah'm no sure ma muscular frame wid look good squeezed intae even an XL. (At least whaur the knitwear is concerned anyway).

If XXL option wis available ah'd certainly consider some ay the items oan the site.

Some of the knitwear is bloody lovely. The casual jackets too on the main are top stuff but the coat and the tailored stuff isn't for me. To be honest at these prices none of it is for me but fair play to those who can afford it or want to push the boat out. Quality don't come cheap I know and I guess these are all in low production runs lending a certain exclusivity much as it does at Mendoza. Nice though.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that most of their knitwear looks gorgeous and the attention to detail is superb; it's just I think as I get older that understated designs suit me better, I feel more comfortable in clobber with an Ivy League-early 60s vibe.

It's true that exclusivity is paramount to some of these "specialist" brands. Connection's main man, Danielle, remarked it in an MC interview when the brand was launched, and they're even offering a personalization service, tho' I don't know to which extent.

Laird, I believe you are a similar centre half-framed individual like myself, and not a small face. I bought an XL from Daniele when he first launched the range, would have been perfect if the look I was going for was mod boob-tube!! He did say at that stage that they were looking at catering for the larger face, but that doesn't seem to have happened. Which is a shame, as the knitwear is well made and looks the part.

Must admit I like that turn of phrase , certainly in my younger Mod scootering days most of us were small faces , indeed bigger guys were so few and far between that one guy who was of the C/H size was called Tank . .

I like their gear , mostly the knitwear but the prices are now a bit higher than I would pay and exclusivity isnae much of a problem in the Circles I move in. . 8)
I do love this number. .
I wont make any deals with you , I've resigned. .
I wont be pushed, filed , stamped , indexed , briefed , debriefed OR NUMBERED!
