American trip
« on: January 16, 2019, 06:19:50 PM »
Hi all, in April me and the better half are going to San Fransico, LA then Vegas. Any tips for decent outlet / record / clothing shops? Also anything you highly recommend, any soul bars / clubs or the like? Cheers Ross.

Popped in here a couple of years back.  Interesting and a few other places locally looked good. Nothing I wanted but worth popping in if in the area.

There's the Levis museum too I think.

Its been a long time since I was there, but Amoeba Records was close to Haight/Ashbury if I recall, fairly large selection at the time. Also might want to check out filming locations, if you are into movies.

you probably can check http://bayareasoul.com/ for soul event in SF area.

I spend just a weekend in LA when i was for work over there last year.

If you like diggin through used records Record Jungle http://www.recordjungle.com/record-jungle-record-shop could be worth to stop by.
I think real rare stuff they put on discogs/ebay, i found nothing special when i was there but also had not much time.

If you go to West LA / Santa Monica (nice beach / pier), there's a cool 50's style diner with fanastic milkshakes on the way http://www.cafe50s.com/cafe-50s.php?mod=cafe-50s-diner-home

BTW, if you are going to SF, also bring some wellingtons....the homeless aren't particular as to where they relieve themselves
