Anyone come across a single colour, non stripey, long sleeve button through polo top?

I quite like the look of these button through polo tops Syd but havenít seen one yet that I like well enough to pull the trigger. Somehow I think they look best with long sleeves. I think Madcap have a couple that look OK but Iím still passively waiting for the right one.

Rod, if you buy just one you better get a quality one. Some suggestions:

I personally prefer the short sleeves version, but like both, depending on colours, pockets, pattern, etc, of course

I have one of these Niall, though it's more a cardi to be fair.

Alan Paine is worth a look, the collars aren't as big as what you'd get from DNA for example but are a better size compared to most efforts on the high street, and if you wait for the sales can be picked up a lot less than Smedley and the like.

My ten pence is that For knitted  polos - like the John Smedley "Sea Island" cotton ones there are Smedley themselves , which are very lovely but I  (a) a bit expensive and (b) such fine cotton that they are a bit unforgiving if you are not the slim young person you used to be.

There are now a fair few  lower price (less fancy quality)  alternatives, but the main problem is the "high street" ones often have very small collars.

Peter Werth do a nice plain knitted cotton Smedley-ish one, imo  https://www.peterwerth.co.uk/collections/polo-shirts/products/hamilton-long-sleeved-polo-burgundy?variant=30320895197231

The Ben Sherman long sleeve plain knit cotton polo is ok-ish I guess https://www.bensherman.co.uk/clothing/knitwear/signatue-cotton-long-sleeve-polo-4507

There are quite a few "Merino Wool" long sleeve polos around, but they are not right for this weather (the Uniqlo wool  ones are v.good quality for the price)

For long sleeve "Pique" polos (ie made from the kind of "Fred Perry Polo Shirt" material) - that's a different matter

Didnae realise Peter Werth had started tradin' online again.

A lot ay mediocre stuff, but generally a few nice pieces in thir collection.

Nice one, Laird. Simon, I've got that green knit, if it's the button-through polo with the waist pockets the one you're talking about
