@ Syd - I have two pairs of white jeans. I got the normal 501s hemmed and left these long to get rolled so I can show the selvedge. Best of both worlds! The selvedge are a heavier denim so they come out in the cooler weather.

@ Woody - IMO itís all about context. This lightweight light coloured suit is one of many things Iíd never have a need for if I lived back home but after our brief period of cooler weather here I reckon thereíll be opportunities to dust it off and it will be fine.

I really should make an effort to do more Ďreal lifeí shots that might show some of my threads in context but as I work solo Iím usually taking these pics as I head out - often straight to the airport!

Cold weather outfit. Details on the blog ...

Tho' I like both, I'm not sure that the jacket and the strides match well. Textures-wise they work together, but color-wise the contrast is too heavy for me. Maybe if the trousers were a bit darker....

Yeah they are a bold statement no doubt. Must have had a rush of blood to the head when I got them a couple of years ago. Itís my belief that if you have a Ďloudí item like that itís best to keep the rest of the outfit more subdued, hence the gray and light blue.

I have the same issue with my Hackett blue cord strides, as they are light blue and thus a pain in the ass to match. I always end playing it safe and wearing them with white shirts.

Cheers folks, I respected the rule and wore the hat indoors just for the pic. But as there's a nice garden in the place we ate I had the chance to wear it outside for a good while.
