Gregory Peck in ‘To Kill A Mocking Bird’. Set in Alabama in the 1930s, filmed in 1962.

Although you could come back with Dustin Hoffman in Orange County, California in ‘The Graduate’ I would argue that he graduated from an unnamed east coast university and the costumers obviously had Ivy style in mind when they dressed him (eg Seersucker, herringbone, corduroy sports jackets)

Not really a fan of seersucker but I do have a pair of shorts and a semiformal dress shirt. It's a summer thing only in my book and unvaryingly comes in blue and white stripes or gingham
Do it well

Nice jacket that, but it doesn't look like madras.

Mover over seersucker debate of 2019, here comes the madras debate of 2019!

Fair enough GS, it's a vintage cotton sports coat, maybe I'm being a bit loose on my definition. I'll hit the bulls-eye tomorrow :)

Nice couple there! And the madras shirt suits you fine, Rod, my LE's madras popover isn't miles away from that pattern-wise.

Madras or otherwise that jacket looks great mate. I'd wear it in a second. Like the look of the shirt too fella. What's the story on that. Nice one.
