That is a decent enough item , Leon but you can get very similar items at the jumble sale known as TK Max for around 25. .so, if you don't mind having a rummage you can save yourself a ton. . ;)

The Cambridge TKMaxx's do actually stock Nigel Hall!  They don't wash very well in my experience.

Browsing through the net I discovered by chance the Chapal french brand, a luxury clothing company with a history dating back to XIXth century. Nowadays they make leather goods inspired by aviation and car racing, among them shoes styled after the ones race pilots wore in the 60s; some of them are stunningly similar to vintage bowling shoes and boxing boots, but the model that grabbed most my attention was this, the "Portobello":

I don't see myself wearing these days the black leather version (tho' I'd have killed for something like that in the 80s), but the grey suede pair is a classy casual shoe/boot. The downside: the 550 they command.

Grey shoes?  Why?  Not for me.

Not my favourite colour for shoes either, Adam, but I don't mind a pair or two of casual grey suede (of course; leather won't do) shoes in my wardrobe; in fact, I'm pretty satisfied with my grey FP chukkas.

Whilst on the search for a pair of blue desert boots (a colour I don't own) I came across these (also made by Clarks) for a knocked down price of 45

Make a nice change to the usual style I think.
