yes Rod, I agree on the lining, must be a "tailor thing", because I can't believe it would make the jacket uncomfortable in hot weather...
Let me know what you think if you see one in NY, I'm in the market for a summer jacket..

OK DM went by Tyrwhitt on Madison Avenue and asked about the seersucker. The fella said its actually fine striped navy and black but dissolves into navy from a few feet away. They didn't have it in the shop as he says its offered online only, but he confirmed that it's got the butterfly lining only across the shoulders so it should wear cool for the summer. Looks nice.

thanks for that Rod, I'm still on the fence because I have a number of items on my list, and only so much in the finance department...also Bachrach has a 20% MTM sale till May 3rd, and I'm thinking of getting something like this made:

can't decide if I need a jacket in that color, though... ???

US guys may be more familiar with it as this!

As it goes Mike Pratt wore a bit of decent gear in this and his son Guy was a member of an early Mod band called Speedball.

I have a picture on my blog of a three button single breasted jacket in that exact colour. Got it a few years ago for about $90. It's all silk. Very nice jacket but not very versatile so it only comes out rarely during the festive season. One red wine mishap and it will be a distant memory!

Oh now I get it, he's a ghost, so he's dressing like late 60's Lennon...  ;)

Yeah, I had a practically brand new Smedley in a very light "oatmeal" that I dumped red wine on...knew I should have stayed with the beer that night.

Must admit , I loved that series , when I was , er , younger . I watched an episode in more recent times and was actually a bit stunned at just how well turned out Mike Pratt was which led me to believe that they spent all the budget on his wardrobe and there was nothing left to spend on decent stunts. . :o
I wont make any deals with you , I've resigned. .
