Talking of blue M&S had some in not unlike those but with a nice leather sole and heel. The only thing that put me off was the fact they had orange stitching. White or blue and I would've been in like flint

Nice find. It has a certain smooth simplicity which is very appealing and it looks like there has been some care and attention applied to its design so I don't mind the price. There seems to be some things on the sides which you can see poking out on by the pockets which look a bit funny. The website says the following:

"Classic 1950's Biker Jacket in heavy weight lamb suede. The skin is oil treated and roughed up to give it that "old friend" look. Vintage Cotton mini floral lining, three front zipper pockets, zipper covered wrist gussets and adjustable side tabs. Made in USA"

How would an 'adjustable side tab' work in that position I wonder?

Why do they add details to the clobber for the sake of it? Sometimes it's the details that give the edge to a garment, but most of the time they just ruin them, especially when these details are not practical or when we're talking about basic staples, that is, a BD shirt, chelsea boots or a bomber/trucker jacket.

Talking of which, I've just spotted these loafers in the GB Bass website, and I must admit I don't dislike them, tho' I'd dispense with the tassels (or change the laces). Thoughts?

I like them but I'm not sure why. The tongue, if it is a tongue, is a little high for loafers and I've never been a fan of tassles. I'd wear them though

I would think it'd make the coat look "waisted", if you tightened them enough.
I've a number of Schott's coats, the fitted Pea Coat I have looks great, and the quality is really excellent. It's a little out of my price range, but I do like this the more I look at it.

I've just spotted two interesting items, first this Lyle & Scott cagoule which I definitely like, a shame they haven't got my size cos it's heavily reduced:

Second, and I'm not really sure about them, these loafers:

Sydney you do love your hybrid items don't you?
That looks like a Harrington in Oxford cloth but with a hood added. Change the zip for a popover set of buttons and it's the Greenstreet Holy Grail!
