Very Nice, don't let the fabric stop you, I'm sure they could be water/stain proofed pretty easily...

Very nice! But can't quite get over the HUGE gap at the centre of the shoes where they lace up.

Those are undoubtedly a work of art.

But I'd question how practical they actually are.

As Jonny pointed out, the huge gap between the throat and the bottom lace is really big. It looks odd there and will look even odder when when the shoe is fastened.

I'd say they've done this for a reason though. Imagine another row of laces under the current bottom set. When the shoe is fastened then it looks like it would pull on that top line piece of leather which extends all the way around.

I think with continous wear that leather will become prematurely creased and the shoes will be very hard to keep looking good.

But again that's not going to matter too much when you consider how difficult the rest of the shoe will be to maintain. It's the sort of shoe you carry around in a bag waiting until you're indoors to wear.

Oh yeah and that heel design?  Looks lovely but you'd have to get used to it, which would mean you'd have to wear the shoes regularly.

For me Menswear is first and foremost about design through functionality. Any design details which do not have function or the illusion of functionality fall down immediately. Aesthetic beauty only in place of function doesn't scan well for me.

Tweed shoes are a terribly impractical idea. The topline/trim is lovely in a picture but fastened I doubt the lines would still be there and in time the throat trim would be creased and puckered. The heels would catch on steps and the pavement.

Aesthetics over the balance of design and function. No thanks.
