Recent vinyl purchases
« on: June 26, 2013, 05:57:30 PM »
Just took a trip to the record shop in my town, and since I had some time to kill I looked through the clearance section, which contains a few thousand records.

Found this beauty:

What have you gotten recently?

Yesterday, I managed to pick up a copy of the U.S. version of THE JAM- SETTING SONS---still sealed (!!)--for a mere $5.00 at a local (Stillwater, Oklahoma) "Antique" shop.   I also picked up the U.S. version of STIFF LITTLE FINGERS- NOBODY'S HEROES (in close to mint condition) for $1.99 at the same shop.   The shop owner had no clue who either group was and only priced THE JAM album "so high" because it was sealed!   His lack of knowledge was my gain, I think.

----By the way, Di Meola is a great guitarist, Aqualung.  Nice cat, too.
I had the happy chance to work with him, very slightly, during a music festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 1980's.  That's a good album you picked up!

That's cool that you worked with him! What'd you do?

I was playing in a small r&b/jazz combo on the same bill; but, I also helped he and his band out with their equipment.   Di Meola, himself, paid us extra for our help from his own pocket.
Keep the faith, keep on keeping on, and keep it Mod!
