Martin Freeman oddity
« on: September 02, 2013, 10:35:04 AM »
has anyone else watched a film called the All Together with Martin Freeman and Danny Dyer?  nice soul soundtrack, and MF seems to have brought his own wardrobe (as usual), and a Lambretta (that wont start).
It was about the most peculiar film ive seen in ages

I've not seen it, but I guess this is the one to which you refer.

yeah, thats the one.  it was pretty dreadful.  but at the same time compelling watching.  Freeman was really good in it (pretty much playing Freeman as far as i could tell)  and that probably carried it for me.

its the story of a media type who is hacked off with the wanky nature of his like, and decides to write a film, avoiding all the obvious cliches like voice over beginnings, gangsters etc.....its basicaly a farce, with voice overs and gangsters.  its odd.  nah quirky.  and hovering on the lie between cult genius and utter crap

Watched it last night and couldn't quite figure out what I was watching. Nothing really clever (though I think the sort of self-aware parody attempts it) but fairly entertaining. The last scene was also quite genuinely disturbing.

Just watched it on Netflix, very odd, wasn't quite what I expected. My favourite but had to be the Fox cub and the rat, sorry, squirrel.
