Mod fashion and style / Opinions on this Tweed Coat please.
« on: October 25, 2013, 08:22:07 PM »
Been watching this for a week or two now. I love the check pattern but i do have a wee niggle regarding the over all style, not sure if it's the Dr Who in the description of the coat as i am definitely not a fan. ;D

Anyway, if you can take some time out to offer opinons it would be much appreciated.

I watched a film/docu on cable last Saturday on the back of ex 80's London Mod Big Bob Morris's input into this.

After watching said film, there has been a few debates between myself and a few ex Casuals on our footie forum regarding similarities between the two. All i saw in this film regarding their dress were mainly tracksuit tops and Adidas trainers, but of course i know that there is more to their clothes than sportswear.

What got the debate interesting on my part was this quote from one of the casuals... "Having watched the programme earlier tonight, after a week out of the country, I am convinced (as I always have been) that one style created the other and they compliment one another very well"

Obviously i disagreed and my point that urked a couple of them is that the Casuals look gave absolutely nothing to the Mods in their wear. In fact it was so far away from the truth that he came back with a huge plate of humble pie.

To my point, does anyone from the Mod side, see any connection between the two cults with how they dress apart from another example being that both cults would spend more money on clothes than their bosses would?

You see for me as i pointed out, it's not only just the clothes and how expensive or how smart they may be, but in the main it's down to fine detail that seperates Mods from Casuals.

One got it the others weren't convinced.

Anyone know the best way to keep the roll on your BD collar when hanging in the wordrobe. As in buttoned or unbuttoned?
