Banter / Re: Things that really piss you off

Not entirely sure why exactly but this does piss me off.
Why does it seem the world and his wife HAVE to dress in baseball caps and hoodies ( almost always grey) even in fine weather?  And pretty much N##e too.

Grey or black.  There's a bloke lives near me that I've never...and I mean never seen him wearing anything else other than a black hoody and black joggers, even in the summer when its red hot....don't get it, but I'm older I don't think we're supposed to 'get it' lol.

The irony of them being called joggers, most of the people I see wearing  them clearly have never jogged in their lives. :D

Ha ha, I completely get what you're saying.  I just don't understand it at all with all this sportswear.  And yeah, how many have actually jogged anywhere?

My guess is, they don't have to bother to think what they're putting on. My gripe is with the tores who stock nothing but trainers and "street wear".
I used to get annoyed more by the sloppy dress of the masses, now I just think makes us all look that much better ;)

In our eyes anyway ;D, I remember discussing this with someone who stated they preferred the look of the jogger type outfit, it takes all sorts i guess.

Bruce Springsteen, back in the 70s or 80s, I haven't followed what he's doing these days so no idea about that. Not so much what he wore as the way he wore it, the kind of - probably very planned - slightly disheveled way he would wear something, the way he could put on a jacket and not seem selfconscious.

Fantastic artist, still making great albums today.
I'll check it out on Spotify.

His last 2 albums were class, one with and one without the e street band.

Banter / Re: Phone mod

Was looking at various backgrounds and stuff and found some nice things and was wondering - since I suppose most of us, unless you really don't need one or are a very strict 60s purist, have a phone, would one be able to instantly identify you as a mod by for example looking at your screensaveror listening to your ringtone? How have your customised your phone to be more modernist?
I discovered some of the standard Samsung designs are some vague graphics that could be seen as anything including retro so stuck to them ;D.

RM, my twopence for what is worth: as mobile phones are so alien to my aesthetic and fave historic period, I find it pointless to customize them (target phone cover?!?!  :(). That said, I always use a cool ring tone, currently Gene Ludwig's "Soul Mountain"  8)
Cool ringtone amigo !! I currently have Can't Be Still By Booker T . It used to make me smile at a Modweekender when you would be in the bar before the music kicked off and you would hear buddies phones going off to various good tunes. .

Mod fashion and style / Re: Whats the last item you bought?

Fashions change, it's great, imagine if it always stayed the same. :D

Yes fashion does change, and not always for the better, but style always remains constant.  I'd much rather remain stylish (IMHO), and be labelled 'retro', 'stuck in the 60s', etc, than be 'fashionable' and look a t**t  ;)

But that's the point just because you might not like it doesn't mean its worse, just like people on have stated 'certain mistakes' people make, well who says they're mistakes?  Them?  But they aren't any authority so it's irrelevant.

As for style remaining constant well thats ambiguous and certainly open to debate.

Why would "certain mistakes" re: what people are wearing be a "whose to say" notion , but "style" is  "open to debate"?
They're both open to one's opinions, aren't they?

Exactly they are, that's what I said.  But there are statements on here like they are stating facts.

Very sad, Charlie was an impeccable dresser.  Incredible style.  And even the pictures from last year which clearly shows him not in good health he was still immaculate.

RIP.

This addition to my knits collection, made in Italy by my go-to brand Doppiaa, has been cheaper than the last batch of DNAs is and to me is more satisfying in several departments, from the colourway (a mostly subjective issue, of course) and fabric (cotton, so easier to care for) to the smaller (but still keeping the curved points' detail) collar. It shares with Claudio's the slim/boxy fit and the short length:

cheer up it's summer. ;D

You should walk a mile in his shoes 😉

 ;D No thanks. ;D
