Weller doesn't look mod anymore, and it's not a complaint, sometimes his outfits work, other times he fails, I think everyone has to pursuit the look that fits him better, be it mod or whatever. I love the diversity of styles on display here, of course within our framework. Steve W and Claudio are more left field, Harry or me (for instance) like the classic early 60s look, but Harry wears more formal outfits and I love casual clothes... You get the idea.

To ilustrate it, today's effort:

Burgundy henley wool top by The Kooples
Bespoke grey penny collar shirt
Levi's sta-prest
Castellanos penny loafers
Cavallini socks

I must tell you that I'm most impressed by those socks , senior ! They are certainly socks for a caballero and there is also something familiar about those loafers. .

Smart, just out of interest where did you get those levi's?

Today, American influenced britophile mix  :o ;)

Completely agree with the no label view.  Few people even know what a Mod is and those that do often have the cliched view of it.  I'd rather do my own thing because it can be very restricting if you don't, and doing your own thing is the real essence of mod anyway.

Last christmas I went out for a few beers with some old mates who had bought a random stranger along. I was wearing a long sleeved Smedley, check trousers and brogues. He asked me why I was dressed like Bing Crosby. He was wearing grey sweat pants and  SuperDry t shirt.
No need to reply. :-\

I think a lot of us might have had a similiar experience mate.

It's just the way it is, not everyone will like the clothes we're into, and we won't like what others wear, the same goes with music etc etc...It would be a pretty boring world if everyone liked exactly the same things.

It's always been like that, fashion, music, sheep will follow sheep, 'whatever everyone else likes I like' will be the credo for most when shopping for clothes or buying music.  That's why MOR is popular that's why baggy sweatpants are popular.

I remember getting a snide comment from someone once, who knows what's behind it, maybe they are brainwashed to dislike anything that isn't 'the norm' maybe they're jealous, the strange thing is I get plenty of compliments usually from women about my clothes who are much more  conscious about appearance and more open minded when it comes to clothes.  Ignore the hater's, let them languish with the bland masses....that's what they want. ;)

Has anyone bought some of the current Next knitwear? Lots of three button polos, button through cardigans... nothing fancy but might do for during the day.

Like this:

Or this:

Any thoughts?

seem decent, I know someone who works or them so I get around 25% off, but rarely see anything I like, I'm so anal when it comes to things likie collar size I'm restricted to wear I get my stuff from. ;D

Polo is indeed amazing, colour is spot on. Trousers look tight but maybe the picture? The problem I have always had with the front pocket and flaps is that looks like you wearing the trousers backward. So not too sure ... unless they are 'counter-balanced' with another pair of pockets and flaps on the back? Lovely cloth and matche the polo with a BANG! great regardless
We like our trousers cut a little tighter here claudio  :D

Lovely polo, I would prefer the top button done up but I guess that's a personnel thing.

Thanks mark, TBH the shoulders looked pretty much the same in both, I have quite broad shoulders so a XL looks fine.  Collar seemed better with XL, Large just seemed too tight.  If it wasn't for the bunching at the arms XL would be perfect I think.

But for everyday shirts I think its fine.  But I think I'm going have problems with other brands, like I discovered with fred perry.

I'll end up buying 2 of everything and trying them both on.
