Just for you, Becky, mr. Tenner savouring the Downbeat:

great pic of Micky Tenner
By the way are you in contact with Tenner?  I'm sure he attended the same school as me in the East End.

Not actually, Mo. He's in a group of FB I'm in, but he rarely, if ever, posts. The couple behind the Downbeat are in touch with him, that's for sure.

Haven't made contact with him yet, but I do intend to. Probably wait until this year is over first. Wouldn't mind going to Tassie just to visit him and learn how to fly-fish. Need a travel permit and some dosh to do that, though.

Bought many a 1960s book before I moved house, but I thought I'd start with this one.

Just finished watching it on ABC iview here in Australia, followed by a re-watching of The Trial of Christine Keeler... Both great productions of the early 1960s. Nothing wrong with a bit of 1960s reimagining binge-watching. When I have my television up and running, I may invest in the Endeavour and Inspector George Gently box sets too.

If anyone wanted to know, yes, Francoise Dior was a relation of fashion designer, Christian. He had already died in 1957.

Hey, Becky, glad to have you back here, hope all's well Downunder!

All's well here, but I haven't been well myself since my last birthday in November (not COVID-19). This year has been rather an up and down year, to say the least.

If anyone was interested to see what it like in 1966 Australia, here's a snippet for you. Normie Rowe wasn't at all Mod, but not long after this footage was taken, he'd end up joining the Army and going off to Vietnam. I actually met Normie a few years back when he played a gig in Ballarat. I met Colin Beard - one of the few photographers in this story - years before when I used to live in Melbourne and got him to sign my copy of Tomorrow is Today, a great book chronicling the Aussie psychedelic scene between 1967 - 1970, which I think you are still able to get.

I know it's been a long time since I have posted anything, but I look forward to seeing this very soon. I'm a bit of a Beatles "anorak", so a lot of it doesn't surprise me about this. When you listen to the bootlegs that arose from these Get Back/Let it Be jam sessions, it's great to see this put to film, albeit in three parts. If there is indeed an 18 hour Director's Cut, I will definitely be investing in that too.

Oh, crossover between forums, that's nice!  ;) Looking good, Becky, I'm sure you enjoyed the exhibition.  8)

It was great, especially when going with other women I'd nornally meet up possibly at a CWA Victoria State Conference, which this year will be in Ballarat...
1960s model, Claire Fiander's MQ Ginger Group Liberty print dress was there... and I have EXACTLY the same one... I am going again on Australian Mother's Day (May 9) and plan to wear it whilst meeting another CWA lady from another Branch.
