Definitely agree with both of those responses!

Really enjoy learning about Mid Century + 60s aesthetics, alongside the more standard Mod fare

I guess it must be hard to be 'Now' focussed during lockdown, with no clubs and no shops open - that said, some amazing new music being released from Kevin Fingier, Colemine Records etc, and online shopping still has great options

Who knows... maybe I'll start my own zine!  ;)

Looks great and the layout is good, but i think the content quality needs to go up a notch...or two.

I actually like it but each to their own

Out of interest, what do people want to read in a fanzine? Interviews, record round ups, full fashion features...? Something from the 60s / 80s or something more Now?

Baracuta's new season stuff. TBH just the suede G9s stand out (some nice colours there), but they're almost 700 !!!

That's an appalling price tag!

First new item of 2021 is a henley / collar-less shirt from Capirari

As sported by Weller, and now me!

Also, wanted to say what great customer service Capirari show - shirt arrived incredibly quickly, excellent packaging, and no post-Brexit charges

Finally, there's a sale on so fill your boots! Or, indeed, your shirts.

I know from speaking to vintage sellers that demand there has gone down, in tandem with people not having events / clubs to go to

For myself, I don't wear suits around the house that often - it's very much casual moving into smart casual

No real need to dress-to-impress when you're watching a live stream from someone's kitchen!

And all that said, returning to the OP topic perhaps my favourite purchase of the year was a 1968 US Navy pea coat in Kersey wool. Pics to follow but I love this coat.

Absolutely love those old pea coats - never been bettered imo!

Jason from Thick As Thieves used to post on here - incredibly smart skin look as I recall! Smart geezer  8)

Cord shoes, and a pair of Loafers from Modshoes. Zip Shetland cardigan from Anglozine. 3 shirts, 2 pair trousers from Claudio. Edward Sexton PoW flannel suit. As soon as things open up again, I'm ready!

Yeah I got the Jook zip up from Anglozine that was a perennial fave - lovely wool, really warm colour!

"Dreams Fulfilled" by Nimbus Sextet on Acid Jazz label..

That's a nice release!

Also on an AJ tip - Kevin Fingier's new seven inch is absolutely exceptional, a superb latin fuelled club sound (if clubs were open, that is)

Respected Mod zine Start has launched its new issue

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Start-fanzine-64-pages-of-style-and-music-in-full-technicolour/324411927896?hash=item4b88752d58:g:omcAAOSwnKlf0e1O

I picked it up - thought it was great! Superb photography and some nice features too

Looking forward to more!

Side note, between Start, the new Detail mag, Heavy Soul (new issue out now), Sharpen Up, and the Spirit of 69 skin zine, the landscape for zines / DIY publishing is the healthiest it's been in some time!

Anyone watched this Netflix series?

Not Mod, but some of the clothes are fantastic, and the soundtrack - Georgie Fame! Donovon! The Kinks! Shocking Blue! - is wicked too...
